Kathmandu: The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) is set to improve its electricity supply system in five districts, with the authority stepping up to procure related infrastructure in those areas.
Issuing call for tenders on Tuesday, the NEA’s grid and distribution systems called for bidding from interested suppliers to sell necessary construction and supply-related equipment in Dhanusha, Rupandehi, Mahottari, Morang, and Sunsari districts. The equipment are related to electricity transmission and distribution systems, constructing new lines, and installing transformers.
Specifically, the Dhalkebar Grid Division—an NEA unit based in Dhanusha—has invited tenders for the construction of a Plain Cement Concrete (PCC) structure for a 133/33 kV switchyard at the Lahan substation.
Similarly, the Bhairahawa Distribution Center in Rupandehi has invited tenders for two separate projects. The center is seeking bids for the stringing and installation of 33 kV line conductors (twin conductor stringing) in the Betari-Taulihawa road (labor camp) area—covering lots 12, 14, 84, and 34—as well as for the stringing and installation of conductors for the Bhumini feeder and the construction of a 33 kV line.
The Bhairahawa Distribution Center has also invited a separate tender for the procurement and supply of copper wire required for transformers. Likewise, the Jaleshwor Distribution Center in Mahottari has invited tenders for the supply and installation of "zigzag power grips" under lots 12, 14, 84, and 34.
The Mirchaiya Distribution Center, located in Morang, has invited tenders for the construction of High Tension (HT) lines and the installation of transformers.
Additionally, the Belbari Distribution Center in Sunsari has invited tenders for the supply of materials necessary for line construction and maintenance. The NEA unit has also invited a separate tender for the procurement and supply of printing and stationery items for office use.
