Kathmandu: Troyer Hydro Pvt. Ltd., a multinational company engaged in the production, sales, distribution, supply, and installation of equipment for hydropower projects, celebrated its 90th anniversary and 'Customer Day' in Nepal. The company, headquartered in Italy, marked the occasion on Sunday, focusing on the development of hydropower and targeting the local market.

Senior officials from the company, who recently celebrated the anniversary in Italy, reaffirmed their commitment to providing high-quality equipment along with comprehensive services and advancing these efforts more effectively. At the event, Troyer's Managing Director, Stefan Troyer, shared the company's legacy, recalling his grandfather’s pivotal role in establishing the company in 1934 from a small room. He highlighted significant milestones, the company’s current status, and its future roadmap.

He credited the relentless efforts of his grandfather, uncles, family members, and himself for bringing the company to its present status. The company has expanded its branches to Italy, Switzerland, and New Delhi, India, catering to the entire Asia region. Stefan also mentioned that Troyer Nepal was established in 2023, with its office setup in progress.

“The team for overseeing Nepal is ready, and the company registration process has been completed,” he said. “The company is working diligently to provide quality equipment and services in Nepal. We pledge to work without compromising on quality and service.” He emphasized their commitment to winning the trust of Nepali customers through efficient operations.

Similarly, Pawan Dhakal, Managing Director of Troyer Hydro Asia, highlighted that the company has established a strong presence in the Nepali market within a short time. He expressed satisfaction that the 9.05 MW Super Chhepe Khola Hydropower Project entrusted Troyer with the supply and installation of equipment.

“In just three years of operations in Nepal, the company has secured equipment supply and installation work for 13 projects. This success reflects our efforts, quality service, and the trust of the Nepali market,” he said. “As soon as Super Chhepe becomes operational, we have been assigned the responsibility of supplying equipment for another 11 MW project, which is very encouraging.”

Addressing rumors about Troyer in the Nepali market, Dhakal said, “We haven’t come here to sell equipment and then leave. We aim to collaborate in all aspects of hydropower development by supplying quality equipment and supporting Nepal's electricity development.”

He also mentioned that the company is advancing plans to establish a warehouse in Kathmandu for repair, consultation, and addressing minor issues that arise after the installation of equipment and systems. The process of identifying suitable land for this purpose is currently underway.

Rewant Kumar Rawat, the director of the Super Chhepe project, expressed satisfaction with Troyer's quality equipment and services. “There were other companies in the market for purchasing electromechanical equipment, but we trusted Troyer for their promise of new and quality equipment,” he said. “We are truly satisfied with Troyer's quick and efficient service and the equipment we purchased.”

Rawat also mentioned that the company performed the supply and installation work faster and with better quality than other service providers. He suggested that maintaining equipment, system, and service quality while making prices more competitive could greatly benefit Nepali hydropower developers in the future.

The company stated that while its central offices currently manage some complexities in Nepal’s services, branches in India and Nepal have now been established to ensure more efficient operations. In the ceremony, was attended by over 200 promoters, investors, and stakeholders in the hydropower sector, including Chandra Prasad Dhakal, President of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), Ganesh Karki, President of the Independent Power Producers' Association, Nepal (IPPAN), and several other IPPAN officials.
