KATHMANDU : The construction of Nepal’s largest solar power plant with A.C. capacity of 10 MW, developed in Dhalkebar district in Province 2, has been completed in a record duration of seven months despite the Covid 19 lockdown.

The power generated by the project has been successfully evacuated to the national grid. The developer , Eco Power Development Company Pvt ltd , contracted the project to the largest solar EPC company of Nepal, Kushal Projects Nepal Pvt Ltd under the design, supply, construction, operation and maintenance modality.

The task was possible due to a world class in-house team of engineers from India led by Sr. Technical Consultant KC Narula. The project is expected to address the scarcity of energy during the dry season and reduce dependence on importing electricity by generating more than 1900,000 units of electricity monthly.

According to its Chairman Sandeep Agarwal, Kushal Projects Nepal Ltd is also managing five other solar projects across Nepal and is determined to make Nepal self-dependent for its electricity needs and help meet Nepal’s target of 15 percent solar power in its energy mix.
