Kathmandu: Gham Power (GP) has been officially named one of the ten global winners of the 2025 Keeling Curve Prize, a prestigious international award that honors impactful solutions for climate change mitigation.
The award recognizes GP’s continued efforts to build climate resilience across Nepal through clean, decentralized solar energy solutions that empower rural communities and industries.
According to GP the announcement was made at the TED Countdown Summit in Nairobi, Kenya, where global leaders and innovators gathered to share transformative ideas to combat climate change. GP was selected in the Energy category and awarded $50,000 to scale its solar-powered initiatives, helping underserved areas in Nepal access reliable, affordable electricity -- reducing carbon emissions and replacing polluting fuels like diesel.
Chosen from more than 2,500 global applicants, GP stood out for its innovative model that combines solar technology with financing tools to make clean energy accessible to those who need it most. With over 4,000 completed projects, the company continues to pioneer sustainable energy solutions that power homes and businesses while strengthening food systems, health services, and climate resilience in Nepal’s most vulnerable regions.
This recognition marks a proud milestone in Nepal’s clean energy journey, underscoring GP’s leadership in climate resilience and sustainable innovation. As climate risks intensify, GP remains committed to delivering community-focused solutions that drive progress and propel Nepal toward a low-carbon, climate-resilient future.
