The government has massively increased prices of petroleum products effective from midnight Sunday.

The state-owned Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) hiked the price of petrol by Rs 21 per liter and the prices of diesel and petrol by Rs 27 per liter.

With the new price coming into effect, the price of petrol will now cost Rs 199 per liter and diesel and kerosene Rs 192 per liter.

Similarly, the price of aviation fuel has reached Rs 185 per liter (domestic) and USD 1,645 per kilo liter (international).

However, the NOC has not increased prices of Liquefied Petroleum (LP) gas.   A cylinder of LPG now costs Rs 1800.

Stating that the Russia-Ukraine War has affected the international fuel market, the corporation said that the prices were adjusted in line with the international market.

On Thursday (June 16), the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), the sole supplier of fuel to the NOC, had sent a list by increasing the price of fuel.  As per the price list, the price of petrol, diesel and aviation fuel was increased by Rs 6.52, Rs 19.3 and Rs 91.91 per liter, respectively.
