Khalanga: Jumla district has now been connected to the national transmission line of the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA).
According to Gaurav Pandey, chief of NEA Distribution Centre, Jumla, 11 KV national transmission line was connected in Jumla on Sunday via Kalikot for the time being.
As soon as it reached Kalikot line, the NEA had been working at a fast pace in order to meet its target to connect Jumla to the national transmission line soon.
Pandey also thanked all the supporters for successfully connecting electricity line to Jumla headquarters.
He informed that the district headquarters had been electrified and NEA was trying to connect Chandannath Municipality Ward No. 8 and 9 with the transmission line as soon as possible.
The NEA has further set a target to reach the main places of the local levels within two years. People of Jumla have been happy as they are hopeful that the problem of electricity would be solved now.
Expressing happiness over the connection of the transmission line in the district after a long struggle, Member of the House of Representatives Gajendra Bahadur Mahat stressed on the need of sustainable management of the transmission line.
Mahat had been demanding to connect the power transmission line to Karnali and Jumla for a long time.
Naresh Bhandari, Member of Parliament from Jumla Constituency A and outgoing Minister for Internal Affairs and Law of the Karnali Province government, expressed his gratitude to all those who contributed to electrification of Jumla.
Deputy Chief of the District Coordination Committee Karma Budha also expressed happiness over the connection of the national power line and said that development of health, drinking water and electricity in Jumla would take pace.
Similarly, the locals are optimistic that power supply would aid in development and prosperity of the district.
