Kathmandu: The Seti-Khola hydropower 22 MW has affirmed that 55 percent above of the construction work has been completed till the date. This hydropower has also affirmed that such accomplishment has been achieved without any serious geological and environmental issue.
This project has also affirmed that it has been following the Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) and Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) guidelines throughout the completion of project. These Standards established by the International Finance Corporation (IFC) has set the global benchmark for sustainable and socially responsible business practices. The project also claimed that their EHS guideline is a cornerstone for the project's ethos.
Ujjal Regmi, the Project Chief, attested on the project's strict adherence to IFC Performance Standards. He also adds, they have completed more than 55 percent work without any serious injury or fatality. Dolma Impact Fund plays a pivotal role in monitoring and capacity building for the project providing guidance and direction towards implementation of ESG and EHS at site level. Their involvement signifies a commitment to ensuring the project not only meets current standards but also has the capacity for sustained excellence over time.
Furthermore, Project ESG consulting is in the capable hands of Alpage SARL, a French consulting company led by Pierre Bierdermann, which also assures the project's adherence to environmental, social and governance (ESG) principles. As the project continues, the project exemplifies how infrastructural development can coexist with environmental conservation. The project aims not to just generate clean energy but to do so in a manner that ensures the well-being of the environment and the communities in which it operates. This project was aimed to complete within two years.
