KATHMANDU; The hydropower group of Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) on Tuesday gained a notable 83.82 points in its index.
The group’s index stood at 1,917.52 points when the secondary market opened for trading on the day, while it closed at 2,001.34 points. Due to an increasing attraction of the investors in shares of hydropower companies, it gained 4.37 percent in its average market value.
In the individual companies, Nyadi Hydropower gained 10 percent in its share price, the topmost of all. The authority enforced circuit break on trading of the company’s shares due to excess hike in its market price.
The share price of Universal Power Company also increased nine percent, while those of Union Hydropower, Mountain Hydro Nepal and Dibyashwori Hydropower Company increased more than eight percent.
Out of 10 topmost gainers, seven were hydropower companies. Overall, Nepse index surged 56.1 points while the daily turnover was recorded at Rs 1.29 billion, the highest amount in the past two weeks.
