Kathmandu : A total investment of Rs 17.89 billion has been estimated for the construction of 87 MW Seti River-3 Hydropower Project.
A feasibility survey conducted by the project has come up with the amount of investment needed to build the semi-reservoir hydropower project. Chilime Hydropower Company Limited, a subsidiary of the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA), is the developer of the project.
According to the NEA, Chilime Engineering and Services Company Limited has prepared the reports on feasibility study and environmental impact assessment of the project. It has estimated per megawatt cost of the project at Rs 220.85 million.
Seti River-3 Hydropower Project will spread in six wards of Jayaprithvi Municipality of Bajhang district. According to the feasibility study report, the maximum head of the project will be 124.46 meter, while total head will remain at 115.07 meter.
The project is estimated to complete its construction in seven years. Its production capacity will be 482.556 GW per year. The project’s internal rate of return will be 120 percent.
