Kathmandu: The Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation has formed a high-level committee, with participation from the private sector, to address issues arising during the development of the energy sector, policy facilitation, and project implementation.

The task force has been constituted under the coordination of Sunil Paudel, joint secretary of the ministry.

The panel includes Yagya Prasad Bhattarai (Joint Secretary, Law and Judgment Implementation Division), the Deputy Director General of the Department of Electricity Development, and Dirghayu Kumar Shrestha (Executive Director, Nepal Electricity Authority) as members. Representatives from the Independent Power Producers' Association, Nepal (IPPAN)—namely Narendra Ballabh Pant, Abhigya Malla, and Anup Acharya—along with Engineer Shirish Pandey, have been nominated as members representing the private sector.

Shalikram Bhandari, senior divisional engineer at the Ministry's Renewable Energy and Carbon Trade Promotion Section serves as the committee's member-secretary.
