Kathmandu: Two people have been safely rescued from the tunnel of the Upper Trishuli 3 'A' Hydropower Station that was devastated by the August 26 floods.
According to the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, they were rescued safely on Friday morning, 10 days after being trapped in the tunnel of the station following the devastating floods of the Bhotekoshi River filling the powerhouse.
Among those rescued are Sanjay Sah, 30, a mechanical foreman from Koiladi-8 Saptari, and Kabir Maharjan, 45, a mechanical supervisor from Balkumari-3, Kathmandu.
The ministry has informed that preparations are being made to bring them to Kathmandu for treatment.
